Denifie Dacres-Walwyn – four charges of robbery. She was given 50 weeks’ detention, suspended for 18 months!

The Birmingham Mail reports: A PREGNANT teenage mum from Birmingham has avoided a prison sentence – despite being behind a string of street muggings.

Recorder James Burbidge QC warned 18-year-old Denifie Dacres-Walwyn (Obviously a Black girl) – pregnant with her second child – that she would go straight to prison if she broke the law again.

He said he accepted the teenager had a troubled background, adding: “You were prepared to go into public places and, in front of many people, attack others.”

The courts, he stressed, were determined to protect members of the public, but the best way to keep her on the straight and narrow was to place her under supervision.

Dacres-Walwyn, of Dolphin Lane, Acocks Green, admitted four charges of robbery and another of possessing cannabis. She was given 50 weeks’ detention suspended for 18 months.

She was further placed under supervision for 18 months and told to obey a four-month curfew order between the hours of 9pm and 8am.

Howard Searle, prosecuting, said Dacres-Walwyn stole mobile telephones from two young girls before robbing a 30-year-old woman who was pushed to the ground before her bag was taken.

She then robbed a young girl in Birmingham of her gold chain necklace and, when arrested, she was found to be in possession of £20-worth of cannabis.

Stuart Clarkson, defending, told Wolverhampton Crown Court Dacres-Walwyn drank heavily beforehand.

She should be doing 5 years (concurrent) in my opinion. What kind of message does this send to other savages who choose to rob, rape, and kill us?
