MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER WARD END FUNFAIR ATTACK

A MAN from Birmingham has been charged with attempted murder after a security guard was attacked at the funfair at Ward End Park. The man, aged 31 years, was assaulted during an incident around 19.46 on Sunday 12 September.
He suffered a gunshot wound to his back and multiple stab wounds in the assault, which police are treating as a targeted attack. It is believed between ten and fifteen young men, dressed in black and with face coverings, are responsible for the crime.
As a result of an investigation that continues, one man has been charged with attempted murder and is due to appear at Birmingham magistrates court this morning, Monday 4 October.
