Eight (Muslim) Telford men in court over child sex allegations

The Shropshire Star reports - Eight Telford men today appeared in court charged in connection with alleged sexual offences and child prostitution relating to four girls, one aged 13.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between 2007 and 2009.

All the men today denied a total of 50 charges between them when they appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

Ahdel Ali, 22, of Regent Street, Wellington, is charged with raping a child aged 13, sexual activity with a child, trafficking for sexual exploitation – arranging or facilitating child prostitution – meeting a child following sexual grooming, facilitating child prostitution and controlling a child prostitute.

Mubarek Ali, 27, or Regent Street, is charged with trafficking for sexual exploitation – arranging or facilitating child prostitution – controlling a child prostitute and facilitating child prostitution.

Tanveer Ahmed, 38, of Urban Gardens, Wellington, is charged with sexual activity with a child, facilitating child prostitution, controlling a child prostitute, and causing child prostitution.

Marhoof Khan, 32, of Caradoc Flats, Wellington, is charged with sexual activity with a child.

Mohammed Ali Saltan, 23, of Victoria Avenue, Wellington, is charged with rape and sexual activity with a child. Mohammed Islam Choudhrey, 51, of Solway Drive, Sutton Hill, is charged with paying for sexual services with a child, causing child prostitution, and arranging or facilitating child prostitution.

Noshad Hussain, 20, of Regent Street, Wellington, is accused of having sexual activity with a child. Abdul Rouf, 33, of Kingsland, Arleston, is charged with conspiracy to cause child prostitution.

The case was adjourned until April 15 at Wolverhampton.

All the men were granted bail.

Polish student stabbed 44 times by her 'black British' boyfriend

The Yorkshire post reports - A 29-year-old man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in Sheffield after she told him she wanted to end the relationship was jailed for life today and told he must serve a minimum of 15 years.

A judge heard how Polish student Weronika Gospodarczyk(R.I.P), 23, had 44 separate wounds on her body after she was attacked by Colin Campbell at her flat last year.

Campbell (left) murdered Miss Gospodarczyk after she told him she wanted them to split and then received a text message from a friend.

Sheffield Crown Court was told how the defendant stabbed her repeatedly with a kitchen knife. When that weapon got stuck in her hand, he reached for another knife and continued the assault. She had severe injuries to her face, neck and upper body.

Campbell, who admitted murder, later told lawyers he was "mystified by what happen".

The judge heard how the couple first met when Miss Gospodarczyk - who was from Radom, which is about 40 miles south of the Polish capital, Warsaw - visited Sheffield on a school exchange trip in 2005.

She later returned to the city to study for a BSc in Tourism Management at Sheffield Hallam University and she bumped into Campbell again in a nightclub.

Fiona Swain, prosecuting, said the defendant showed signs of jealousy throughout their "tumultuous" relationship even though he was seeing other women behind her back.

The court heard how Campbell would self-harm in order to earn his girlfriend's sympathy.

Campbell snapped and attacked Miss Gospodarczyk in the kitchen at her flat in September last year.

The court heard how someone in a neighbouring flat heard a "loud, shrill, high-pitched scream" which went on for several seconds.

Another neighbour arrived to see Campbell attacking Miss Gospodarczyk and said he looked like "he'd lost all control".

Police arrived to find the defendant covered in blood and arrested him. He told officers: "She said she was going to leave me." Read more

Kim Clijsters continued to make untroubled progress at the Australian Open today, when she secured a place in the third round with victory over Carla Suárez Navarro.

The No3 seed from Belgium took 44 minutes to rout Dinara Safina 6-0, 6-0 in her first match and the early stages against Suárez Navarro were almost as one-sided. The Spaniard rallied but could not prevent Clijsters from easing to a 6-1, 6-3 win. "I was happy with the way I played. Shard End pensioners' club could close because of council cuts

Today in Britain our so called government (the Coalition) has raised foreign aid from 9 billion pounds a year to 12 billion pounds a year.

Not only that, Birmingham has so many third world immigrants that white British children are now a minority in their own city.

Type 2 diabetes is up to six times more common in people of South Asian descent and up to three times more common among people of African and African-Caribbean origin.

• According to the Health Survey for England 2004, doctor-diagnosed diabetes is almost four times as prevalent in Bangladeshi men, and almost three times as prevalent in Pakistani and Indian men compared with men in the general population.

Bearing these things in mind the pensioners in Shard End may be losing their community centre due to budget cuts, get the picture?

The traitor Cameron proudly boasts everything is being cut except international development (foreign aid) and health.

In the picture (top of post) you see all white British pensioners (bar one) many of which fought for this country in ww2 and scrimped by on rationing until 1954.

Shard End is a majority white, working class area, it's likely that most of the pensioners in the picture voted for the Labour Party.

Labour are well known for canvassing old peoples homes and say centres to groom the 'silver vote'.

Not surprising such an area has 3 Labour Councillors and the MP for the Constituency is also Labour.

None of them seem interested in saving the pensioners club however or it wouldn't be facing closure.

They should all hang their heads in shame!

The Biringham Mail reports - A CLUB for the elderly and disabled in Birmingham is set to close after 40 years because the city council is taking away its grant.

Shard End Day Centre receives £14,000 a year from the council’s Adults and Communities Directorate.

But now it has been told its grant will stop at the end of March because of council cutbacks.

Devastated members were told the news this week and now the club is frantically scratching around for grants and handouts from other organisations in a bid to keep going.

The centre meets twice a week at Shard End Community Centre and has around 30 members.

It receives £3,500 a quarter from the council which it uses to pay for the hire of the room and for two cooks to prepare the members’ meals.

Members, virtually all of whom live alone, pay £3.75 each per session and for this receive tea, coffee, a hot lunch and during the summer, day trips. Read more

Hodge Hill Constituency

The constituency covers a diverse area of east Birmingham, including the predominantly Asian inner-city area of Washwood Heath and the mostly white area of Shard End on the city's eastern boundary, as well as Hodge Hill itself. The constituency is one of the most deprived in the region and contains very few middle-class residents.

Birmingham street robber jailed for five years

A sentence to fit the crime, if this kind of sentencing was more consistant street robberies would undoubtably go down.

The Birmingham Mail reports - A STREET robber who stole £500 and a mobile phone was jailed for five years and three months at Birmingham Crown Court.

Ahmed Abdullah, 21, of Westminster Road, pleaded guilty to robbery.

The robbery took place on February 17 last year when Abdullah followed a man who had won £500 in cash out of a bookmakers in Heathfield Road, Handsworth.

Abdullah and a second man asked the victim for money before knocking him to the ground and stealing his winnings and a mobile phone.

Abdullah was arrested a short while later.

The rise and fall of Associated Television (ATV) Broadstreet Birmingham

The original Broad Street building began its life with laying of foundation stone in 1926, beginning the construction of a hall for the Freemasons of Warwickshire.

It was used as a Masonic hall until 1939 and within a matter of days of World War 2 breaking out, the hall was acquired by the government for ‘war duties’ and used by the Ministry of Food and also by The War Office for Army Recruitment.

Architects began work on the new ATV Centre as early as 1967.

A site located in Birmingham’s city centre was chosen; located on the corner of Broad Street & Paradise Circus and was donated in 1965 by Birmingham City Council.

Initial construction work began on the site during the autumn of 1968, in the form of work for the new studio complex, attached hotel, Alpha Tower block and NCP multi-storey car-park. Paradise Lost: The ATV Centre Story

The foundations for what would become a Birmingham landmark were being built.

The building was to be known as ATV Centre. The whole complex was sadly demolished in 2007.

Crossroads opening 1960's

Crossroads was soap opera set in a fictional motel near Birmingham, England. Originally broadcast on the commercial ITV network between 1964 and 1988, it was created by Hazel Adair and Peter Ling and it was produced by ATV until the end of 1981 and then by Central.

Live from Birmingham, Bob Monkhouse hosts The Golden Shot 1970. The game show produced by ITC for ATV between 1 July 1967 and 16 March 1975, was based on the German TV show Der goldene Schuss.

One of the many 70's title sequences and theme tunes from ATV Today. This was the Midland's own news programme provided by the regional contractor ATV.

Every episode was filmed at the ATV Centre in Broad Street, Birmingham, with one exception - where the 100th episode was an outside broadcast, from Hednesford Park (a racing track) in Staffordshire. When ATV 'became' Central in 1982, the ATV Centre changed its name to Central Independent Television. Subsequent Saturday morning shows made by Central in the 1980s came from the same building.

Here Haystacks joins Big Daddy on the cult Saturday morning TV show TISWAS, and the two giants of British wrestling have some unfriendly banter with Sally James.

This was the final closedown from ATV in the early hours of 1st Jan 1982. Then follows the first start-up from the new Central Independent Television (ITV) about 9 hours later. The dawn of a new era in midlands broadcasting.

Boon was a drama and modern-day western series starring Michael Elphick, David Daker, and later Neil Morrissey. It was created by Jim Hill and Bill Stair and filmed by Central Television for ITV. It revolved around the life of a modern-day Lone Ranger and ex-firefighter, Ken Boon.

KETV7 Reports - Both Suspects Turn Themselves In After Brawl Breaks Out On City Bus

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln police said a bus brawl that was caught on tape all stemmed from a running argument over online postings.

Imani Collins, 20, turned herself into police. She was cited for assault, disturbing the peace, and child abuse. Authorities said Collins’ three-year-old daughter was on the bus at the time of the incident.

Marsha Lewis, 20, also turned herself in Friday for the incident. Lewis was cited for assault, child neglect and disturbing the peace by fighting.

Video of the incident, which appeared on the Lincoln Crime Stoppers website and was produced by the Lincoln Police Department, shows Collins and Lewis confronting a third woman on the bus. The dispute turns violent and punches are thrown.

At one point, the video shows two young girls of one of the assailants being trampled during the fracas. Read more

The BBC reports - A drink-driver who killed a father and son in a motorway crash was performing a sex act on himself minutes before the collision, a court heard.

Imran Hussain was driving at speeds of up to 120mph minutes before he ploughed into the back of a Fiat Punto carrying the Proctor family, from Wakefield.

Gary Proctor, 47, and son James, 16, died in the smash on the M62 motorway near Rochdale, on 3 August.

Hussain, of Bradford, was jailed for eight years at Manchester Crown Court.

Death threat

The 32-year-old, of Como Avenue, pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of driving with excess alcohol at a previous hearing.

The Sunday Mercury reports - A LAPDANCER caught with a record haul of crack cocaine in her knickers has had £1,660 of suspected drug money confiscated by the courts.

Shadia Wright, 24, was pulled over by cops as she was driving to Aberdeen to deliver the Class A narcotics. Three Birmingham men connected to a West Midlands Yardie gang were also in her Lexus.

The dancer, from Leicester, was strip-searched and officers found a record 9oz haul of crack in her undies – worth £25,000.

Officers also seized £1,413 cash from her handbag and purse and another £245 from the car, pending an investigation.

The curvy stripper later admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine. She was placed on probation for two years and ordered to carry out 240 hours community service.

On Wednesday, Wright had the chance to reclaim the cash from Perth Sheriff Court but did not show up. The money was confiscated under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Drug trafficking between the Midlands to Aberdeen has become one of the most lucrative criminal trade routes in Britain.

The Sunday Mercury first exposed how Yardie gangsters from Birmingham and Wolverhampton were using Scotland as a market for cocaine and heroin back in 2000.

In 2002, Midland amateur footballer Kevin Nunes, 20, was arrested on drug charges in Aberdeen. He was found shot dead in Staffordshire just 24 hours after being released from custody, having visited a Yardie stronghold in Wolverhampton.

Shortly after his death, police sources revealed a staggering 95 per cent of the crack trade in Aberdeen is controlled by Yardies from the Midlands.

The disturbing trend had led forces from across the country to collaborate to halt the supply of drugs.

Lapdancer Wright was pulled over in November 2008 when the registration of her car was highlighted by a nationwide police database of motors linked to suspected criminals.

Traffic officers lay in wait before stopping the Lexus on the M90, near Perth. Computer checks found the three passengers were known to Midland police, although the dancer had no criminal record and claimed she had no idea about their pasts.

Times of Malta reported in Febuary 2009 - The leader and founder of Imperium Europa, who had ran unsuccessfully for the 2004 Euro-parliamentary elections, had been found guilty of inciting racial hatred (telling the truth) and insulting the President of Malta (heresy) in speeches in Rabat and Qawra in 2006, carried on the Internet.

He was eventually given a two-year jail term suspended for four years and fined €500.

As a result, Mr Lowell was disqualified from taking part in the Euro-parliamentary elections next June (political persecution).

The Yorkshire post reports - A BRADFORD taxi driver with a conviction for rape was revealed today to be still driving his cab around the city, after council chiefs failed in an attempt to revoke his licence.
Bradford Council admitted it had been unable to revoke the licence after the driver appealed in court to get it back(sic).

The case came to light after a member of the public made a freedom of information request to the council, which also disclosed that 31 other Bradford cabies have serious criminal convictions for violence.

Of the 3,006 drivers in the Bradford district, 29 have been convicted for actual bodily harm, two for grievous bodily harm and one for rape.

A Bradford Council spokesman said: "The Council refused to renew the licence for the one driver with a rape conviction, but he successfully appealed in court." Read more

The Sunday Morning Herald reports - An 18-year-old woman who was raped by a taxi driver on her way home after a night out with friends was a virgin who had recently moved to Sydney.

At the time of the attack, "Jay" (not her real name), believed she was gay.

She had spent a night out at the Flinders Hotel in Darlinghurst with girlfriends and had travelled home alone to Oyster Bay at 12.30am on Sunday, November 4, last year.

The court has heard that she was in a drunken state when she caught a taxi home and at times dozed off.

Md Kowsar Ali, 23, a part-time Combined Taxi driver who had come to live in Australia from Bangladesh to study accountancy, told police the intercourse that took place in the back seat of his cab that rainy morning was consensual.

But a jury of nine men and three women - who were not told of Jay's sexual history, took two hours and 10 minutes today to convict him of raping her in Mobbs Crescent, Beverley Park near Kogarah.

Ali was arrested near Hurstville Railway Station 15 minutes after a weeping and distraught Jay phoned the triple-0 emergency line.

He initially told police that he had only touched her on the groin and right breast with her consent.

The jury convicted him of two counts of indecently assaulting her but acquitted him of having robbed her of $100.

The love and trust it promotes are not toward the world in general, just toward a person’s in- group. Oxytocin turns out to be the hormone of the clan, not of universal brotherhood. Psychologists trying to specify its role have now concluded it is the agent of ethnocentrism.

The finding is the result of extensive testing conducted by a team of Dutch psychologists led by Dr. Carsten K. W. De Dreu of the University of Amsterdam. Their paper, “Oxytocin Promotes Human Ethnocentrism,”was published online just days ago. “Ethnocentrism is a very basic part of humans, and it’s not something we can change by education,” De Dreu concluded.

The team had Dutch men inhale a puff of oxytocin or placebo 40 minutes before engaging in a series of tests designed to measure their feelings toward in-group and out-group members, “us” and “them.” The psychologists asked them to respond by pressing a button when they saw a pair of names, finding the subjects who received the oxytocin responded more readily when that set included a Dutch name instead of an Arab or German one. The hesitation reflected an aversion to the out-group.

Demotix reports - Nick Griffin was forced to retreat from the Frontline Club after he was there to take part in a Q&A panel session on the film 'The Battle for Barking'.

Members of Unite Against Fascism (UAF) waited for British National Party (BNP) leader Nick Griffin to arrive at the Frontline club in Paddington where he was due to hold a Q&A session on the documentary film 'The Battle of Barking'.

He arrived promptly at 1900 hours at which point many people ran towards him shouting 'GET HIM!!'

Mr. Griffin's security detail protected him with one spectacular scuffle in the street. They also used some sort of spray ink, which got one cameraman and one protester in the face.

Numerous police rushed to the scene.

Realising he could not get into the club, Mr Griffin ran back with his security guards 200 metres to the Norfolk Towers Hotel to regroup. After roughly ten minutes he got in a car parked outside the hotel and drove around the corner.

It is uncertain whether he made it into the club or whether he made a full retreat.

It also consists of a restaurant and tonights actions must have been quite a spectacle for those dining at the time.

It has truly been an outstanding start to 2011 for The British National Party.

Although the British National Party chairman has been highlighting the issue for ten years, and was almost convicted of religious hate speech twice for bringing the truth to peoples attention, both Labour and UKIP have tried to high jack the issue.

Micheal Crick from News night showed up towards the end of our session and interviewed MR Nick Griffin MEP and the candidate MR Adams, for comical effect a Liberal Democrat activist had his 'fifteen minutes' with the news night correspondent, yes he used the 'R' word (predictably).

Recent twitter posts seem to suggest the congress woman has died after being shot in the head at point blank range, by a white male named Jared Loughner, 22.

Motives are unclear at present, video's on his utube channel suggest he was a 'religious nut'.

MSN Reports - Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona was shot in the head Saturday when an assailant opened fire outside a grocery store during a meeting with constituents, killing at least five people and wounding several others in a rampage that rattled the nation.

Giffords was among at least 10 people injured, and the hospital said her outlook was "optimistic" and that she was responding.

"She's in critical condition," Dr. Peter Rhee said. "The neurosurgeons have finished operating on her and I can tell you that in the current time period I am very optimistic about recovery ... she was following commands."

The WDLS proposes two standpoints at the same time.

on the one hand they say (prepare yourself for some intensive Multicultural race hustling claptrap)

'organisations will need to find new ways to ensure the identification, nurturing, progression and retention of global talent in order to stay competitive'

The aforementioned passage is from the PDF program for the WDLS second day, at 1:30, under the heading Diversity and Gender Recruitment (there were several speakers on the subject).

The above passage suggests that companies/organisations who do not recruit staff from foreign countries will not be able to 'stay competitive' (survive).

This is multicultural claptrap and totally erroneous.

Ever since the NHS has become multicultural and recruited staff from countries from every corner of the globe, the quality of the service/care has hit an all time low.

Several patients have been killed by so called 'global talent' doctors who have given incorrect doses of medication for example.

Also, the aforementioned description of that segment of the summit (Diversity and Gender Recruitment) includes nothing regarding gender?

On the third day of the summit, a segment suggested the opposite of 'organisations will need global talent to stay competitive'.

Instead they switch to 'inclusiveness'.

Organisational connectivity, which is based on the field of social network annalysis, is an innovative method of uncovering and studying communication patterns and social relationships within a company.This type of valuble information (sounds valuable) does not appear on any organisational charts, but it can provide vivid collaboration and inclusiveness within a group of people. This session provides an overview of how these tools are used to understand these group dynamics and improve organisational effectiveness and inclusion.

It appears that this segment is basically masking the simple assertion: 'companies/organisations have a duty to include a diverse mixture of people'.

Race hustling is evolving, this type of language is designed to make the speaker sound intelligent.

It suggests the subject is somehow scientific and advanced.

The only science this language is advancing is multicultural gangsterism and Liberal/Marxist sanctioned 'race hustling'.

Click 2 Houston reports - "We're talking crematorium-type of hot," said one Houston Police Department Homicide Squad officer assigned to the investigation.

Police said they confiscated a badly burned section of carpet from the home of Mona Yvette Nelson, 44, who stands charged with capital murder.

She had a welding background and police found welding equipment in her home on Allwood Street in the Fifth Ward area of Northeast Houston. Police said a section of carpet was badly burned and the smell of a human body filled the area around that carpet.

DNA tests are being ordered to analyze any bodily fluids.

One investigator assigned to the case said it now appears Foster was killed at that spot in Nelson's home within hours of being kidnapped from his family's home near Shepherd Drive and 43rd Street in Northwest Houston.

Police say she was acquainted with some members of the boy's family.

One officer said on Friday that the autopsy has ruled out any trauma on the child's body. There were no broken bones or any signs of strangulation or head wounds, so officers said it now appears the child was killed with a welding torch that could be capable of 6,000-degree flames.

"I've never seen burns like this," said one officer who viewed the boy's body after it was found in a ditch off the Hardy Toll Road on Tuesday.

He said that killers often try to cover their tracks by burning the victim's corpse, but in this boy's case, the burning was so intense and thorough that many veteran homicide investigators are struggling with the notion of such a grisly and painful way to die.

Nelson told a community activist from behind bars that she had nothing to do with killing the boy, and she mentioned her own grandchildren as proof that she would never harm a child in such a manner. Read more

Harold Gregory "Hal" Moore, Jr. (born February 13, 1922) is a retired Lieutenant General in the United States Army. Moore is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross, which is the second highest military decoration of the United States Army.

He was the lieutenant colonel in command of the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, at the Battle of Ia Drang on November 14–16, 1965, in Vietnam.

The European Union Times reports - A BURQA-CLAD mother of seven who claimed she was the victim of mistaken identity has been jailed for six months for making a false complaint against a police officer.

Magistrate Robert Rabbidge dismissed Carnita Matthews’ allegations that a highway patrol officer was racist after he pulled her over for a Random Breath Test and claims he forcibly tried to remove her face veil as false.

In sentencing her, he described her actions as “both deliberate and malicious” saying he had no option but to sentence her to jail given the seriousness of her allegations, and to send a clear message to the community.

A second woman, also wearing a burqa today who was supporting Matthews in court broke down in tears as she was removed by Corrective Service officers.

Matthews was charged in June after allegedly falsely claiming that a highway patrol officer handled her in an attempt to see her burqa-hidden face during a random breath test.

After arriving at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday with an identically dressed friend, Matthews watched the in-car police video of her being pulled over and asked to lift the burqa so the officer could verify her licence photo.

Her claim that she had not signed the Statutory Declaration outlining her complaint were rejected with Magistrate Rabbidge saying the signature on it was almost identical to that on her driver’s licence.

The court was told that after being issued an infringement notice for not properly displaying her P-plates, the 46-year-old branded the officer “a racist” and claimed he only booked her because of what she was wearing.

“I’ve got my P-plates on my car … there was nothing wrong with how they were displayed,” Matthews said on the video.

“You look at me and see me wearing this and you couldn’t handle it. All cops are racist.” Read more

Airports demand racial profiling to fight terror

The Local de reports - The incoming head of Germany’s main airport lobby group is demanding the nation’s transit authorities use racial profiling to weed out terrorists at security checks.

Christoph Blume, the head of Düsseldorf Airport, told daily Rheinische Post that air passengers should be divided into different risk categories, meaning they would be subject varying degrees of scrutiny by airport security.

“That way, the security system could become more effective to everyone’s benefit,” said Blume, who will take the helm of the ADV airport association next month.

He said profiling passengers according to characteristics such as race, religion and country of origin would allow German airports to avert a further tightening of security.

While highly controversial because of its discriminatory nature, racial profiling has also found support among German police officials. However, critics fear it would stigmatize entire groups of passengers simply on their looks, faith or from where their trip originated.

But Blume said airports would soon no longer be able to cope with the threat of terrorism.

“Each new incident leads to extra checks and security measures. This creates a security escalation that will eventually hit its technical and operational limits,” Blume told the paper.

However, Blume still supported the introduction of so-called “naked scanners” that can reveal dangerous objects under clothing at German airports. Currently, backscatter scanners are being tested only in Hamburg before officials decide this spring whether to expand their use nationwide.

Nine 'Muslims' charged with plotting terrorism offences in UK

(Reuters) - Nine men arrested in police raids a week ago have been charged with conspiracy to cause explosions in Britain and with plotting terrorism offences, police said on Monday.

The nine were among 12 men arrested on December 20 in what police said at the time were counter-terrorism raids essential to protect the public from the threat of attack.

Three of the 12 arrested were released without charge, a statement issued by West Midlands Police said.

The remainder will appear at the City of Westminster Magistrates Court later on Monday, the statement said.

"I have today advised the police that nine men should be charged with conspiracy to cause explosions and with engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism with the intention of either committing acts of terrorism, or assisting another to commit such acts," Sue Hemming, head of the Crown Prosecution Service Counter Terrorism Division, said in the statement.

"I have reviewed the evidence provided to me by the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit and I am satisfied there is sufficient for a realistic prospect of conviction, and it is in the public interest that these men should be charged with these offences," Hemming added.

MILITANTS' SHADOW

The three men arrested from the Welsh capital Cardiff were Gurukanth Desai aged 28, 26-year old Omar Sharif Latif and 24-year old Abdul Malik Miah.

Mohammed Moksudur Rahman Chowdhury, aged 20, and 28-year old Shah Mohammed Lutfar Rahman were arrested from London.

The four other arrested men came from Stoke-on-Trent in central England -- Nazam Hussain aged 25, 19-year old Usman Khan, 26-year old Mohibur Rahman and Abul Bosher Mohammed Shahjahan, also aged 26.

At the time of the arrests, the BBC reported that most of the suspects were British but they also included a small number of Bangladeshis.

The police statement said that between October 1 and November 20 the suspects had conspired to cause "explosions of a nature likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property."

It added that between October and December 20, when the men were arrested, they had been downloading from the Internet, researching and discussing potential targets, carrying out reconnaissance and "igniting and testing incendiary material."

It did not specify what the potential targets were.

The BBC said in an unsourced report at the time of the arrests that they were linked to an investigation into al Qaeda-inspired attacks within Britain.

The Daily Mail reports - Shoppers dived for cover at one of Europe's busiest shopping centres today after a youth was shot in a suspected gang clash.

Eyewitnesses described an apparent confrontation between two groups at Birmingham's Bullring centre and police originally reported that a second man had been stabbed in the head, although a spokesman later said his facial injuries may have been the result of being slashed with a knife.

The incident, which was captured on CCTV, happened close to the flagship Selfridges department store on what was expected to be one of the busiest shopping day of the year as shoppers flocked into city centres to take advantage of the Boxing Day sales.

West Midlands Police sent armed officers to the Bullring, which has two three-storey wings separated by a central pedestrianised plaza. A number of areas inside and outside the shopping centre were cordoned off, although it was thought the shooting took place outside the mall.

A police source said it appeared that one group of around eight youths had chased a second, smaller group, through a section of the shopping centre.

One of those being pursued, a 26-year-old man who suffered the minor facial injuries, is under arrest in hospital on suspicion of violent disorder.

The second man, aged 19, was shot in the leg and is also in an undisclosed hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is understood both men are black, although some of those involved in the violence were Asian, police said. Read more

St George's flag protest lands in court

It illustrates how far gone England is, when an English man can be charged with 'religiously aggravated harassment' for displaying an English flag.

The Reading chronicle reports - The English Defence League staged a protest in Reading today (Thursday) in support of a man arrested after hanging a St George’s flag outside a mosque.

Around 20 members of the controversial campaign group came from across the South East to demonstrate outside Reading Magistrates’ Court monitored by a heavy police presence.

Among them was co-founder Tommy Robinson, who told The Chronicle: “Our argument is with militant Islam. What’s far right about protecting women’s rights and gay people’s rights? The problem is the teachers of Islam, it’s got nothing to do with your colour. It all comes back to the Koran.”

Inside the court 37-year-old Tilehurst man Ronald Peterson was on trial for religiously aggravated harassment. The court heard he went to the partially built mosque in Oxford Road, west Reading, on May 30 to protest over the way its planning application was handled by the borough council.

Peterson, with two other men, draped the St George’s flag on a fence, posed for pictures and chanted “E, E, E.D.L” and “England”.

Witness , 32, told the court he was in the nearby Reading Tea House and went outside after hearing the chanting. Read more

Sinterklaas and his Black Pete usually carry a bag which contains candy for nice children and a roe, a chimney sweep's broom made of willow branches, used to spank naughty children.

Some of the older Sinterklaas songs make mention of naughty children being put in the bag and being taken back to Spain.

The Zwarte Pieten toss candy around, a tradition supposedly originating in Sint Nicolaas' story of saving three young girls from prostitution by tossing golden coins through their window at night to pay their father's debts.

There are various explanations of the origins of the helpers. The oldest explanation is that the helpers symbolize the two ravens Hugin and Munin who informed Odin on what was going on. In later stories the helper depicts the defeated devil.

The devil is defeated by either Odin or his helper Nörwi, the black father of the night. Nörwi is usually depicted with the same staff of birch (Dutch: "roe") as Zwarte Piet.

Pre-Christian Europe

Parallels have been drawn between the legend of Sinterklaas and the figure of Odin, a major god amongst the Germanic peoples and worshipped in North and Western Europe prior to Christianization.

Since some elements of the Sinterklaas celebration are unrelated to Christianity, there are theories regarding the pagan origins of various customs of the holiday stemming from areas where the Germanic peoples were Christianized and retained elements of their indigenous traditions, surviving in various forms into modern depictions of Sinterklaas. Non-Christian elements in Sinterklaas that arguably could have been of pagan origin:

* Sinterklaas rides the roof tops with his white horse Amerigo; Odin rides the sky with his gray horse Sleipnir.

* Sinterklaas and Odin are both depicted with a long beard.

* Sinterklaas has a staff and mischievous helpers with black faces; Odin has a spear and black ravens as his attributes.

* It has been also claimed that the tradition of children placing their boots filled with carrots, straw or sugar near the chimney for the White horse of Sinterklaas goes back to pre-Christian North Western Europe, where children would place their boots near the chimney for Odin's flying horse, Sleipnir, to eat.

Middle Ages

Originally, the Sinterklaas feast celebrates the name day, 6 December, of the Saint Nicholas (280–342), patron saint of children and sailors.

Saint Nicholas was a Greek bishop of Myra in present-day Turkey.

In 1087, his relics were furtively translated to Bari, in southeastern Italy; for this reason, he is also known as Nikolaos of Bari.

His fame spread throughout Europe. The Western Christian Church made his name day a Church holiday. In the north of France, he became the patron saint of school children, then mostly in church schools.

Sinterklaas is assisted by many mischievous helpers with black faces and colourful Moorish dresses.

These helpers are called 'Zwarte Pieten' (Black Petes). During the Middle-ages Zwarte Piet was a name for the devil.

Having triumphed over evil, it was said that on Saint Nicholas eve the devil was shackled and made his slave.

Although the character of Black Pete later came to acquire racial connotations, his origins were in the devil figure.

Late 20th and 21st Century

The arrival of Sinterklaas into town became a huge event and is broadcasted on national television.

Numerous people dress as Zwarte Pieten in various cities and towns across the Netherlands.

Their faces were blackened to indicate that Zwarte Piet was an imported African servant of Sinterklaas (though some people said Zwarte Piet was a slave who, when Sinterklaas bought him his freedom, was so grateful that he stayed to assist him). Today however, the more politically correct explanation that Pete's face is "black from soot" (as Pete has to climb through chimneys to deliver his gifts) is used.

Sinterklaas, Santa Claus, and Christmas

Howard G. Hageman, of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, maintains that the tradition of celebrating Sinterklaas in New York existed in the early settlement of the Hudson Valley.

He agrees that "there can be no question that by the time the revival of St. Nicholas came with Washington Irving, the traditional New Netherlands observance had completely disappeared."

However, Irving's stories prominently featured legends of the early Dutch settlers, so while the traditional practice may have died out, Irving's St. Nicholas may have been a revival of that dormant Dutch strand of folklore.

In his 1812 revisions to A History of New York, Irving inserted a dream sequence featuring St. Nicholas soaring over treetops in a flying wagon — a creation others would later dress up as Santa Claus.

But was Irving the first to revive the Dutch folklore of Sinterklaas? In New York, two years earlier John Pintard published a pamphlet with illustrations of Alexander Anderson in which he calls for to make Saint Nicholas patron Saint of New York and to start a Sinterklaas tradition.

He was apparently assisted by the Dutch, because in his pamphlet he included an old Dutch Sinterklaas poem with English translation.

In the Dutch poem, Saint Nicholas is referred to as 'Sancta Claus'.

Ultimately, his initiative helped Sinterklaas to pop up as Santa Claus in the Christmas celebration, which returned - freed of episcopal dignity - via England and later Germany to Europe again.

45 people lynched amid Haiti cholera fears

9 MSN Reports - Angry Haitian mobs have lynched at least 45 people in recent weeks, accusing them of spreading a cholera outbreak that has killed over 2500 people across the country, officials said.

The number included at least 14 suspected sorcerers previously known to have been lynched in the far southwestern region of Grand'Anse as local people feared they were spreading cholera with a magical substance. The area has been largely spared by the outbreak.

"We have counted 40 people dead in Grand'Anse department alone, where people are attacking natural healers they accuse of cholera-linked witchcraft," said communications ministry official Moise Fritz Evens.

Five other people were killed in similar circumstances elsewhere in the country.

"The victims - most of them voodoo priests - were stoned or hacked with machetes before being burned in the street," added the official, who was presenting the results of an investigation conducted in Grand'Anse earlier this month.

Communications minister Marie-Laurence Lassegue said "voodoo practitioners have nothing to do with the cholera epidemic. We must press for an awareness campaign about the disease in the communities."

Official figures earlier showed the water-borne bacterial infection has claimed 2591 lives so far in the nation's first cholera outbreak in more than a century.

The disease first appeared in mid-October in the north.

Health ministry figures as of December 17 showed 121,518 people had been treated for the water-borne bacterial infection, including 63,711 who received hospital treatment.

And in a sign there is no end in sight for the disease that has become a thorn in the side of the already deeply troubled nation, about 50 people died on each of the last five days recorded.

At the outbreak's peak in November, there were daily death tolls of 60, 70 and even 80 and above.

The cholera outbreak led to deadly anti-UN riots last month as a desperate populace turned its anger on peacekeepers from Nepal accused of bringing the disease into the country.

The first lynching cases date back to late last month, when mobs hacked or stoned to death their victims.

About half of Haiti's population is believed to practice the voodoo religion in some form, though many are thought to also follow other religious beliefs at the same time.

Sorcery and spiritual magic have been incorporated into some of the beliefs.

Voodoo evolved out of the beliefs that slaves from West Africa brought with them to Haiti.

It is now deeply rooted in Haitian culture.

The Telegraph reports - The disgraced former MSP was found guilty of lying during his successful defamation case against the News of the World in 2006.

He sued the Sunday tabloid after it claimed two years earlier that Scotland's "hero of the left" was an adulterer who had visited a swingers' club.

He won damages of pounds 200,000, at a civil trial that tore the SSP apart and led to all six of its MSPs losing their seats in the Scottish Parliament in 2007.

Sheridan and his wife Gail, 46, were charged with lying under oath following the case. Mrs Sheridan, a former airhostess, was acquitted of all charges on Friday.

The jury of 12 women and two men yesterday returned a majority verdict on Day 46 of the trial after deliberating for more than six hours.

Over the past three months the High Court in Glasgow has heard a lurid tale of sex, lies and videotape.

Sheridan, 46, forced Andy Coulson, the Prime Minister's director of communications and former editor of the tabloid to give evidence, in an attempt to prove the newspaper had set out to "destroy" him.

He also claimed 16 former friends and colleagues in the SSP were lying when they told the court he had admitted going to Cupids swingers' club in Manchester at an emergency meeting of the party in 2004.

The Daily Mail reports - Channel 4 is embroiled in a race row after comedian Frankie Boyle used two racially offensive terms during his show Tramadol Nights on Tuesday.

The words 'n****r' and 'p**i' both featured during the programme, in which he has already provoked outrage by insulting cancer victims, Aids sufferers and obese people.

Critics said the incident was worse than the Celebrity Big Brother outcry over the 'racist' bullying of Shilpa Shetty and called for media regulator Ofcom to investigate.

During Tuesday night's show, a female character was dressed up as a sexualised Super Mario character and uttered the phrase: 'Hello to P**is everywhere'.

Later in the show, he used the word again when talking about Western forces in Afghanistan before using the word 'n****r'.

A YOUNG man who asked a gang of thugs to stop throwing snowballs at people and cars was kicked, punched - and then stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle.
The 19-year-old, who has not been named by police, was waiting for a bus at the junction of Upperthorpe Road and Addy Street in Upperthorpe, Sheffield, when he was attacked.

The 15-strong gang turned on him and he was kicked, punched and stabbed with the bottle.

His 19-year-old friend was also attacked, and suffered a cut on his forehead and bruising to his face.

Chf Insp Andy Male, of South Yorkshire Police, said: "We appreciate that people will throw snowballs when there is a fall of snow, but I would like them to think about the effect of their actions on others.

"The fact this group decided to attack a member of the public for challenging their behaviour is shocking, and we are investigating it fully.

"We have officers from CID and the local Safer Neighbourhood team working on this."

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Residents and local businesspeople today condemned the attack, which happened near the Al Sultan Continental Food Store.

John Sheldon, aged 78, said: "I would never expect anything like this to happen to somebody just for asking people to stop throwing snowballs - it is shocking.

"You see groups hanging around here all the time and it unnerves you because you never know what they are going to do next.

"Most of them don't even live here, they just meet up here and we get the problems."

Claudia Thompson, 42, agreed: "It is disgusting.

"Throwing snowballs can be a dangerous thing to do especially if they are targeted at cars, so it sounds like the injured man was doing the right thing by trying to get them to stop.

"The problem with a lot of kids these days is that they have no respect - their parents need to take more responsibility for what they are doing."

Businesswoman Pat Sharp, who runs the Upperthorpe Cafe, said: "It is dreadful.

I have heard that all he was doing was saying 'stop it' to a group who were throwing snowballs at cars, windows and people.

"They were causing a nuisance, and he was only doing his bit and trying to get them to stop - he didn't deserve what happened to him.

"Local people are really shocked at what happened.

"The police had a community bobby on the streets after the attack to try to find those who did it and to stop people throwing snowballs."

The 15-strong gang of thugs was made up of Asian and mixed race teenagers and men.

A survey of 600 Muslim and 800 non-Muslim students at 30 universities throughout the UK conducted by the Centre for Social Cohesion found that 32 percent of Muslims on UK campuses believe killing in the name of religion is justified.

"Although people of Muslim faith make up only 3 to 4 percent of the UK's population, outreach to this key audience is vital to U.S. foreign policy interests in the UK and beyond. ... This is a top Mission priority," stated the cable.

The February cable outlined a plan encompassing 'engagement and community capacity-building' to counter the possible growth of 'violent extremism' in the UK.

In February 2009 MS Addy and a LGBT officer were outraged that two British National Party Representatives were due to debate multiculturalism at Durham University.

The letter MS Addy and her friend wrote was tantamount to a threat of violence and disorder, should the Durham University debating society dare let MR Andrew Brons MEP and another BNP official speak on campus.

Two questions; firstly when did the black NUS get to dictate who can and cannot debate at a ENGLISH university?

Secondly why are race hustlers such as MS Addy so afraid of debating with people who do not subscribe to their warped, Marxist, anti white views, could it be because such people know they wouldn't last five minutes in such a debate?

Strong stuff there, hardly the words of meek and repressed minorities, MS Addy still enjoys her role as black NUS students officer.

The author came across a pdf entitled - 'Moving on' a guide to employment for black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) students and graduates.

This 'Handbook' was on the NUS Black students campaign website.

It would seem the term 'black' is highly versatile, especially in the realm of modern day 'race hustling' and affirmative action style Marxism.

How many Pakistanis do you think describe themselves as black?

How many Indian people would answer yes to the question; 'are you black'?

The answer of course is zero, the NUS Black Campaign is clearly aimed at black people (African descent) because their academic achievements are so lacking.

However there are advantages of 'pooling together' other ethnic groups and labelling them as black (when it suits).

One example is the jobs market.

By uniting in consternation anytime a white person gets a job, where a black/Asian person was also interviewed for the same position, the prospects of benefiting from a 'equality payout' are endless.

Imagine a different scenario; a Bangladeshi man is under performing at work, he is often late and has already been warned, eventually his white boss sacks him, then the other 'Bame' Black Asian and minority ethnic staff get together and make a complaint to the 'diversity officer' of the firm, and say that the white man sacked the Bangladeshi guy because he is a (white)racist.

Not an enviable position to be in is it?

Even if nothing comes out of the investigation the white man/woman is stigmatised, and resources of the company have been squandered.

The most unbelievable thing is...while these 'BAME' race hustlers attempt to grind us into the dust, and blame the white man/woman for all their failures, they have their own openly prejudiced organisations!

Beck lauded a decade of "perfect defense" against "amnesty" initiatives.

"Now, we look forward to moving aggressively to offense," Beck said. "The next Congress has the strongest pro-enforcement membership since 1995 and probably since 1924."

But the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda decried senators' "shameful" failure to pass the DREAM Act.

"Today’s failed vote is an indication that an ugly current of nativism is alive and active in the U.S. Senate,” said Lillian Rodríguez-López, chairwoman of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, in a statement.

"It would be an outrageous ploy if a yes vote on this bill was withheld for partisan gain in the next Congress," she said. "To those Senators who denied the American dream to so many worthy young people, we will not forget. We hope that those Senators will soon come to recognize how important the DREAM Act is to our nation's security and economy."

But how much money does the Government actually hope to save on tuition fees? If the immediate problem is our massive state deficit, it seems odd that the Government should risk such unpopularity, not for any immediate saving, but in the hope that it will get the money back over the next 30 years, as students can afford to repay it.

In the short term, the Government’s own projection as to how much it will save is that the funding of university tuition will be cut by £2.9 billion by 2014. As it happens, £2.9 billion is the sum ring-fenced, by the same public spending review, to be given to developing countries to help them fight global warming with windmills and solar panels. It is also slightly less than the £3 billion by which our public debt is rising every week. These much-vaunted “cuts” are not all we are led to believe.

BNP leader Nick Griffin has fought off a bid to have him declared guilty of contempt of court in connection with the party's constitution.

He was accused by the Equality and Human Rights Commission of failing to comply with a Central London County Court judgment ordering him to remove potentially racist clauses from the BNP constitution.

The county court had ruled that the constitution breached discrimination laws because of a clause banning non-white members from joining.

A revision was later rejected by the court because it was seen as indirectly discriminatory against those of mixed-race as it required party applicants to oppose "any form of integration or assimilation of ... the indigenous British".

Another section required new members to submit to a two-hour vetting visit at their home by BNP officials, which Judge Paul Collins ruled said was "intimidatory".

The county judge ordered both sections to be removed from the constitution.

The Commission took the BNP to the High Court accusing it of being in contempt by failing to comply with that order.

Robin Allen QC, appearing for the watchdog, said the BNP was "playing with" the Commission and had ignored the order.

However, Lord Justice Moore-Bick said he had reached "the clear conclusion" that the Commission's legal action could not succeed.

John Wadham, the Commission's legal group director, said it had been successful in forcing the BNP into changing its constitution even if Mr Griffin had escaped contempt proceedings.

"Eighteen months and seven court hearings later Mr Griffin has finally amended the constitution to bring it in line with what the Commission had originally requested," he said.

The Birmingham Mail reports - ELDERLY residents in North Birmingham are being urged to stay vigilant after burglars posing as nurses and social workers targetted old folk.

Police have issued the warning after they received reports concerning two women posing as nurses or social workers entering properties and making off with cash and personal items.

Five incidents have occurred between August and December this year at properties in Kingstanding, Sutton Coldfield and Four Oaks.

On each occasion, two women have been allowed into the home of an elderly resident after claiming they are either social workers or nurses. After distracting the victim, they have made off with items including bags, purses and cash.

Both offenders are described as black, in their 20s, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall with dark hair and wearing either a navy blue nurse uniform or dark clothing.

Detective Constable said: "We are making inquiries into these reports and would urge elderly members of our community to be aware and ensure they check who they allow into their homes.

"Bogus callers are people who try and con their way into homes in order to steal. They will use very plausible stories to get access inside properties.

"If you are not expecting a visitor and do not recognise the caller, ask to see identification. If you have a security chain, put it on the door before you open it.

"Remember you can always ask a caller to post identification thought your letterbox. If you are still unsure who they are, ask them to call back at a convenient time when someone can be with you, or get them to write to you to make an appointment.

"Please remember, you do not have to let strangers into your home. If you are at all suspicious or the caller will not leave, call the police."

The Birmingham Mail reports - IMMIGRATION has been blamed by the Government for soaring tuberculosis (TB) rates in Birmingham and major cities.

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley said the 30-year high was due to a major influx of infected people from countries where TB is rife.

Under health reforms, local councils working as public health authorities will play a major role in dealing with the problem.

But Labour MP Gisella Stuart (Edgbaston) has criticised the Government’s plans as Prime Minister David Cameron said that, despite councils having more control, they would not be able to re-introduce TB jabs in schools but follow national rulings.

TB outbreaks in inner city Birmingham as high as third world countries.

In Handsworth and Aston, rates are over 140 cases per 100,000 with anything above 40 per 100,000 viewed as a dangerous level.

Mr Lansley said: “Treatment services for patients will be commissioned through GP consortia but the identification and preventative work is a public health responsibility.

“Many of these local authorities in Birmingham or Manchester or Leeds will be well placed as cities to respond to any incidences of TB or outbreaks of TB on a preventative basis using their powers as public health authorities.”

Councillors and parents have come together in Birmingham to call for TB jabs in schools city-wide due to a surge in the lung disease.

Another rape by an 'Asian' taxi driver

Anyone with sisters, daughters or a nicece should warn them NOT to get in a taxi with an Asian taxi driver this christmas.

The Bromsgrove advertiser reports - BROMSGROVE police need the help of the public after a taxi driver assaulted a passenger.

The taxi, a traditional hackney carriage black cab, picked up the victim, a woman in her late teens, from Worcester Road, near the Dog and Pheasant pub.

The taxi driver picked up the woman at 2.15am last Saturday, December 11, and told the victim to get in the front, then sexually assaulted her on the journey.

PC Stacey Keogh of West Mercia Police said the incident could have been a lot more serious.

She said: “It is really unusual for there to be black cabs in Bromsgrove, so we believe the driver must have been in the town centre dropping somebody off – possibly someone who had been for a night out in either the Birmingham area or Worcester.

“Police are looking for anybody who remembers the taxi, but specifically for people who got the taxi to Bromsgrove. We believe the registration plate began with the letters DY.”

The driver is described as an Asian male, in his mid 40s, 6ft of heavy build. He was clean shaven, with a very chubby face. He had black, thick hair, which was short around the sides and a bit spiky on top.

He was wearing a long-sleeved cream shirt, dark trousers and dark shoes and had a Birmingham/Asian accent.

The BBC reports - Police have issued an e-fit of a taxi driver who is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who managed to escape from his vehicle but was later attacked and raped.

The 25-year-old victim flagged down a black cab on Shudehill on Saturday at 0100 GMT.

Police said the driver drove her to Ash Street, Harpurhey, where he locked her in the taxi and attacked her.

She managed to escape but police say she was later attacked and raped.

The second attack took place not far from the junction of Ash Street and Cyprus Street.

Det Insp Nick Hughes, said: "The victim was subjected to an awful sexual assault by a man she had trusted to take her home.

"I want to reassure the community we believe this is an isolated incident and are working closely with the taxi licensing officers.

"There is no reason why this incident should deter people from going out over the festive period and I would reiterate that getting a pre-booked licensed taxi home after a night out is one of the best ways to keep safe."

The Telegraph reports - Jane Turner intervened in a heated argument between a group of children near a school to help end it.

However, during the dispute a parent of one of the children reported hearing her say: “Go and play with your own little white friends, you’re nothing but white trash.”

After she was reported to police, Mrs Turner initially denied using the phrase but later admitted she had said “white trash” and has since apologised.

Mrs Turner was working at Moseley School, a specialist language college in Birmingham, when the incident took place almost 20 miles away.

She was convicted at Halesowen Magistrates Court of an offence of using racially threatening words or behaviour likely to cause harassment or distress.

She was made subject of a community order for one year with a requirement to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and was ordered to pay compensation of £50.

The General Teaching Council also investigated and yesterday announced its conclusions, criticising her for “unacceptable professional conduct” but stopping short of suspending her from teaching over the incident which took place in April 2009. Read more

Meanwhile U.K style 'affirmative action' (Positive Discrimination) is unfairly promoting black/Asian people to higher positions, ignoring the fact they are often unqualified and/or incapable to fill such positions.

The Dail Mail reports - A disabled mother thought she was going to die when she was viciously attacked after her child's pram collided with another on a crammed bus.

A furious parent launched a violent attack on the 36-year-old woman, when there was no space for his buggy too, calling her a 'fat b****' and saying 'I'm going to f****** kill you.'

The mother said up to 80 fellow passengers 'did not even call the police' when her head was repeatedly slammed against the floor while her husband tried to protect her and their three-year-old daughter.

She was left with head injuries and needing hospital treatment.

Unbelievably, a handful of passengers even laughed (sic) as they watched the man hurl a torrent of abuse before launching the sickening attack on the couple he thought were in his space.

Their ordeal began when the man got on the bus and demanded that she make room for his child’s pushchair.

'I just wasn't expecting it at all,' the mother, who suffers from auto-immune disease lupus, told MailOnline.

'It was 2pm on Saturday afternoon and we were on our way back from picking up my medication.

'I didn't refuse to move, I didn't have anyway to go. There were suitcases in the buggy area too and I was jammed right into a corner.'

Comedian Stewart Lee defends Birmingham City Council use of the term ' Winterval'

Winterval was first suggested by Birmingham City Council in 1997.

Birmingham City Council have the honour of being the laughing stock of the U.K with their idiotic politically correct brainchild 'Winterval'.

The name "Winterval" was a portmanteau of "winter" and festival coined by the Council's Head of Events, Mike Chubb. In October 2008 he explained:

Quite simply, as Head of events at that time, we needed a vehicle which could cover the marketing of a whole season of events…Diwali (festival of Lights), Christmas lights switch on, BBC Children in Need, Aston Hall by Candlelight, Chinese New year, New Years eve etc. Also a season that included theatre shows and open air ice rink, Frankfurt open air Christmas market and the Christmas seasonal retail offer. Christmas, called Christmas! and its celebration, lay at the heart of Winterval.

Absolute rubbish of course, MR Chubb is guilty of selling indigenous Brummies down the river, the Winterval saga is no dobt something that Birmingham City Council would like to forget.

The Birmingham Post reports - Comedian Stewart Lee has been on the radio pushing the familiar line that Birmingham City Council was accused of "banning" Christmas.

As he correctly says in his interview, which you can hear for yourself here, "they called the celebrations as a whole Winterval and you were allowed to use the word Christmas, and you were allowed to have a Christmas tree" and to celebrate other religious festivals such as Diwali too.

The Sunday Mercury reports - SHE was the boss of an asylum seeker housing firm which received £18 million in taxpayer funding before being forced into liquidation because of unpaid debts.

He was the African billionaire who had gone from prison warder to be a leading figure in the Kenyan Government.

Now the extraordinary links between Mabel Mark and Joshua Kulei can be revealed for the first time.

They include details of how Mrs Mark and her asylum firm, Kimberley Group Housing Group (KGHL), received £1 million from the wealthy Kenyan – to help buy an AIRLINE in Africa.

The money was transferred in a series of payments into her personal and company accounts, with £125,000 later used as the deposit on a Cessna.

But the airline, called Mabel Air, never got off the ground while Mrs Mark’s asylum housing company is now in liquidation.

She claims her £10 million-plus assets have also been frozen as part of an ongoing investigation by the UK Border Agency (UKBA).

Home Office reports claim investigators discovered KGHL was unable to meet its trading liabilities, owed considerable sums to sub-contractors and utilities suppliers and had no proper systems in place to manage liabilities.

The firm was also accused of failing to maintain proper records and there was said to be ‘‘substantial intermingling of personal and corporate assets and monies without regard to the claims of corporate creditors.”

Seriously ill Birmingham pensioners left with no heating

Also reported by the Sunday Mercury - TWO pensioners recovering from serious illness have been left without heating in sub-zero temperatures after council contractors failed to fix their broken boilers.

Grannies Patricia Stewart and Lilian Whittall, both 74, were both released from hospital in the last week to discover their heating had failed as Arctic conditions swept the country.

Mrs Stewart, from Kitts Green in Birmingham, had been suffering from pneumonia while Mrs Whittall, from Castle Bromwich, is recovering from quadruple heart bypass surgery.

After discovering their heating had failed, the OAPS contacted Birmingham City Council who sent in its heating contractors, Mears, on Tuesday.

Yet in both cases engineers claimed the problems could not be fixed immediately as they would need to send away for spare parts.

But a chilly Mrs Stewart said: “It’s like an icebox in here and I fear I could easily die if I’m not careful. It’s a disgrace.

‘‘I am bed-bound and need round the clock care. I was a home
help carer for Birmingham City Council for over 20 years and even then I never saw a case worse than mine.” Read more

He is a Sociologist and anthropologist.

Curiously he claims 'race doesn't exist', but wants to educate people about 'African/black history'.

The BBC invited him to talk about 'youth violence' and knife/gun crime.

The Sociologist describes black knife/gun crime as a 'urban myth', and suggests the violent crime in London today (mostly committed by black males), is no more serious than the Teddyboys of the 60's (sic).

In his BBC interview above DR Lez Henry mentions funding for youth clubs and 'workshops'. How can you have a club for youth such as these?

Pensioner robbed of Christmas savings in Small Heath

The Police haven't caught the low lifes who attacked and robbed this lady.

Why then haven't they told us the race of the muggers?

Surely this would help in efforts to catch them!

The Birmingham Mail reports - A PENSIONER has had her Christmas ruined after she was attacked by two thugs who stole more than £700 of festive spending money.

Widow Doreen Laishley was punched in the face and knocked over by muggers who took £400 in cash and £350-worth of supermarket savings stamps.

The 72-year-old had just collected the haul for colleagues at Sheldon Heath Social Club, where she works part-time, when the pair struck on Wednesday morning.

Mrs Laishley said she felt responsible for the loss of the money and was resigned to dipping into her own savings to replace the cash and stamps.

“It is not their fault I was mugged and they will need the stamps for their Christmas shopping,” she said.

“I am just lucky I was not hurt too badly.

“I wish I had managed to put up more of a fight and given them a kicking.”

Mrs Laishley was shopping in Small Heath when she was distracted by one of the men and then struck by an accomplice who snatched her bag. Customers at a nearby garage were said to have stood and watched as the muggers made off with the bag, which also contained credit and loyalty cards.

Her glasses were also broken in the attack.

Good samaritan Ann Bishop, of Kings Heath, was driving past on her way to Birmingham City’s nearby St Andrew’s ground when the incident happened on Small Heath By-pass.

She said the muggers were cowards for attacking a defenceless pensioner.

“It’s hard to believe this sort of thing happens in broad daylight,” Mrs Bishop said.

“I stopped my car because no-one else seemed to be helping.

“I called the police but Mrs Laishley was only worried about losing her friends’ savings stamps which had been collected for Christmas.”

Rory Stoves, of Tesco, said it was possible the stamps could be traced from their serial numbers.
