Switzerland releases crime statistics - by country of origin

Tagesanzeiger Switzerland reports -

Crime rates in the permanent Swiss population: men, 18-34 years of age, criminal offenses under the Criminal Code.

Men from Angola, Nigeria and Algeria collect six times more criminal charges in Switzerland than the Swiss men.

The report showed that the Swiss immigrants are almost twice as criminal as German immigrants.

For the first time the figures have been released from the Federal Office of Statistics, they show the crime rate in relation to the nationality of the resident population in Switzerland.

The figures are based on police crime statistics for 2009 and the 'Sunday paper' reported them.

Accordingly, Tamils are almost five times as likely to be charged with a crime as a Swiss man. Read more and view the graph here
